You might think I’d be embarrassed to write about lice and lice treatment options from the point of view of one who had head lice once. But, hey, I was a kid when I got the creepy things; I was one of hundreds of kids who are subject to the epidemics that are inevitable in school; and if my parents used something that worked, why not share the positive results of one kind of lice treatment?

So a letter comes home with me one day when I was, oh, five or six. It reads that the school is experiencing an epidemic of head lice, and offers solutions by way of what to do, what not to do, and even what particular lice treatment solutions to use. My parents FREAK out, rush the whole family off to our one-room camp, and begin the most miserable of lice treatment regimes I could imagine. They isolated me from the others by putting me out back by the camp’s outhouse, doused my head with what was and I think still is one of the best lice treatment medicines on the market—called RID. It’s in a clear bottle in a box with a stop sign (a red octagon) with white letters. This stuff burned like ^%#$@#%^, took—to a kid–an interminable amount of time to seep in and kill lice and eggs, and smelled disastrous. Then, the combing out of every hair follicle (as the nits and lice cling to, thrive at the base where the follicle and skull cap meet) took forever.

But really, to an adult, the RID was a fast, and more importantly, EFFECTIVE lice treatment solution. And by the way, the studies and stats show that lice “favor” clean heads, so the implications of having head lice should not be that you are a poor, dirty think who not only bring on the lice but pass them around. To the contrary: lice are very common; they are very easily traded or “spread”, and they are nothing to be personally ashamed of.

The shame manifested in the infested and his/her parents and families is interesting. It makes the victim in need of head lice treatment hide, zip the lip, and fret over such values as cleanliness being next to Godliness and all that. But while this antiquated morality and this self-flagellation is absurd on one level, on another level it makes sense. To be afraid of mice might be to be remembering at some past-life or psychic level the pandemic disaster that mice and other rodents once brought (in London by way of the mice carrying the plague). So to be ashamed of lice might be, actually, a way to ensure the perpetuation of a healthy human species. Shame (and fear) should not be such a great motivator. Goal-orientation, here, to get rid of infestation with an effective lice treatment is…or should be.

Many people have Hepatitis C and don’t even know it; by the time they start showing symptoms, significant damage to the liver has already occurred. Hepatitis C information is available from a number of online sources, and since it is a fairly new form of hepatitis, facts and misconceptions are common points of discussion, so that the public can become educated. According to www.hepctherapy.net, almost 30% of the American population who have this chronic disease, have absolutely no idea how they got it. Information on Hepatitis C discusses the most common ways people contract it, what symptoms may be present, if any, treatment options, and how to live with it. Hepatitis C information describes how the body’s immune system is just unable to fight the virus, and how over time, the liver loses it’s ability to function properly.

The Hepatitis C information shared on the internet is full of the most pertinent facts that everyone should know, whether they have the virus or not. The incidence is increasing in the American population, and there are many routes of transmission included in Hepatitis C information. This virus is transmitted by infected blood on unsterile instruments in a medical or dental setting, in tattoo or body piercing parlors, by having sex with an infected partner, through a cut or skin wound, needle sticks, intravenous drug use with tainted needles, sharing drug paraphernalia used to snort cocaine or methamphetamines, blood transfusions, or through blood-to-blood contact. Hepatitis C information states that a great amount of time can pass from when infection occurs and the person starts showing symptoms, and damage to the liver can be severe by the time it is diagnosed. According to a number of online Hepatitis C information sources, this virus is one of the most common reasons that liver transplants are performed in this country.

Prevention, education, and awareness is the best way to avoid contracting Hepatitis C. No one should have to worry about getting the virus through sterile medical and dental procedures, but it does happen. Tattoo and piercing parlors that are not regulated by state agencies can also be a possible source; it’s okay to ask to see the sterile instruments and inks being opened from their packages, and if it’s not sterile, I’d take my business elsewhere. Hepatitis C information also discusses the level of risk present for health care workers, needle sticks and exposure to blood is common, which is why the use of universal precautions is so important. The goal of Hepatitis C information is to provide education to everyone to reduce the prevalence and incidence of this horrific chronic disease.

Skin problems seem to plague more than just teenagers. Individuals of all ages struggle with the anxiety and embarrassment of acne. There are many types of creams, lotions and soaps that all claim to clear the skin, but the majority of them do little if anything at all.

In addition to disappointing results, many over the counter products are very expensive. For someone with acne prone skin this can become a costly experiment. Many people are foregoing these types of treatments for more natural solutions. Aloe Vera acne treatments are one very popular choice.

Many local health food stores carry a range of products that are derived from this natural substance. People have been using Aloe Vera for years to treat sunburns as well as small cuts and abrasions. The secretions from the plant are said to heal the skin much more rapidly, which is why Aloe Vera acne treatments are proving so effective.

If you aren’t comfortable with the idea of purchasing a skin care product before fully understanding how it works, why not do a little research on the Internet? There are many websites that showcase Aloe Vera acne treatments complete with testimonials along with before and after images. Seeing how the Aloe Vera acne treatment worked for someone else might give you the push you need to try it on your own skin.

In fact, you may also find a great deal while you are conducting your research. Many products are less expensive online merely because the vendor isn’t paying the same overhead costs that a brick and mortar storefront is. Don’t be surprised if you find the same Aloe Vera acne treatment that is available locally for a discounted price on the Internet.

Parents are often the ones in search of an effective skin care regime for their teenage child. They see the child developing acne and they worry that they’ll have to deal with ridicule and embarrassment at school. An Aloe Vera acne treatment can be very appealing to a parent because they may have already used Aloe Vera in the past and they believe in its healing ability.

These treatments certainly aren’t just for the teenage set though. Many adults suffer with skin problems throughout their lives. For women they often resort to make-up to mask the problem, yet the real solution is in finding a way to cure the problem. An Aloe Vera acne treatment will work just as well for an adult as it does for a child. Anyone with a recurring acne condition should try one of these treatments so they can see the results for themselves.

Chlamydia is a nasty little sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can cause major damage to the female reproductive organs if not diagnosed and treated effectively. According to www.womenshealth.about.com, Chlamydia affects over 3 million people per year, and three out of four of these people are under the age of 25 years. An overwhelming 50% of women have had Chlamydia before they reached the age of 30. The signs of symptoms of Chlamydia may be absent or only slightly noticeable, and if Chlamydia treatment is not sought soon enough, severe damage can happen to the ovaries, Fallopian tubes, and uterus, causing infertility. Many women who have sought Chlamydia treatment in the past may not even know that their reproductive system has been affected until they are unable to get pregnant. Chlamydia treatment usually does not include checking the function of the reproductive organs, and is only discovered when these women seek treatment for infertility.

More than 50% of infected women and 25% of infected men may not show any symptoms of Chlamydia. If symptoms are present, it may be abnormal discharge or painful urination, both of which can be very slight. Often times Chlamydia has progressed far enough that some damage has already occurred because treatment was not initiated sooner. These Chlamydia treatments usually consist of prescription antibiotics, such as Zithromax, tetracycline, or erythromycin, all antibiotics that are effective in killing Chlamydia with only a few doses. Patients should be instructed to finish prescribed Chlamydia treatments even if symptoms are no longer present. Other the STD may not be totally eradicated and come back with a vengeance, requiring more Chlamydia treatment with an even stronger antibiotic.

The only way to avoid having to seek Chlamydia treatment is to use a barrier device, such as a condom during intercourse. If you donít know your partner that well, or there are extramarital relationships occurring, then by all means use a condom just to be safe. You may never know, especially if you are single and having one night stands and engaging in other promiscuous sexual activities. If you do contract the bug, then seek testing and Chlamydia treatment as soon as possible. You may be too embarrassed to seek Chlamydia treatment, which is understandable, but at the same time, your reproductive health is at stake. Confide in your health car provider if you have engaged in unprotected sex, and get tested. You may not have Chlamydia, but you will feel much better knowing that, and if you do, you can start Chlamydia treatment right away.

Is there really a BEST weight loss system? Is there one that is the fastest? Is there one that is hella cheap and still super effective? Since I have given up on “dieting,” I can only recall the many weight reduction attempts I mad and which of those I would have considered the best weight loss methods. Then again, I wonder if what is best is what works for the individual—and hence the reason we have so many possibilities, so many variations on the same goal.

What I mean is this: since I have always been overweight, I have spent a lifetime searching for the best weight loss plan for me. I have done—starting in my pre-adolescent years—yogurt and granola, skim milk and banana, cabbage soup, Weight Watchers (three times), Jenny Craig, Dr. Atkins, The Zone, the Hilton Head, the Suzanne Somers, and numerous other plans. I went with low fat, low-carb, went with the body-type diet, and onto the grey sheet of the 12-step program, Overeater’s Anonymous.

I then did a personal food plan and exercise program that combined all of the individual actions that worked…from each of the best weight loss plans I had used over the decades. I shopped at a health food store, so I ate no white flour or white sugar (both of which are chemically processed and create food cravings!). I ate protein, vegetables, and a minimum of whole grain breads at each meal. And I power walked 4.15 miles every day.

As for the exercise, yuck, I first tricked myself into getting out there, walking one city block (one-tenth of a mile) and back the first day. The next day, I did two city blocks. The next day after that, three, and so on, until I was not only out there walking for over an hour but waking up in the morning craving the movement, the air, the head rush (or endorphin rush). I also listened to music with a perfect, driving, motivating beat and with lyrics that kept my mind occupied…as for me, exercise was boring because there was nothing to think about, nothing for my brain to feed on when walking around an oval track for instance, or doing repetitive, dull sit ups or whatnot.

As they say in another twelve-step program, “Take what you need and leave the rest.” Study and try out what each diet promoter announces is the BEST weight loss plan, but then use what works for you from each one. Yes, it will take months, even years, but it is worth it if you want the best weight loss results FOR YOU. In other words, it works if you work it!

Have you noticed that the media is continuously focusing on health issues lately? This is a very serious topic to say the least. I think some folks are finally realizing the horrible effects that bad foods can have on your body. It’s no laughing matter. However, if you simply go by the fast food ads, you would have to wonder. All that laughter and playing around is not exactly related to heart-stopping fast food, is it? The reality would be a lot of overweight people sitting around and doing nothing.

Anyway, as technology and science advance, we are always becoming more aware of the impact certain foods have on our bodies. This is essential knowledge. I know I want to be aware of what I’m consuming. With high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease always on the rise, I would think everyone would be interested in a healthy diet. Although there are a few high blood pressure cures out there, the best method is prevention.

Are you aware of any high blood pressure cures? Let me go ahead and tell you about the best one in the book. It’s actually really simple and has been around for a long time. It’s more of a lifestyle than it is a tangible pill or medication. I am talking about eating healthy and living well. As you’ve probably seen in the media and in other places, high blood pressure cures and afflictions are a pretty large concern now days. So much of this dilemma has to do with the way people conduct their everyday lives.

The fact is that high blood pressure is related to what you consume and levels of stress you grapple with. In other words, poor diet and stress are bad. Now, let’s consider the diet aspect for a moment. You have total and complete control over what you consume if you are an adult. This is just reality, folks. Don’t blame the commercials, don’t blame you friends, and don’t blame the McDonalds by your place of employment. No one makes you eat that garbage! I am a human being as well, and I choose not to eat it. It’s as easy as that.

Will power is one of the greatest high blood pressure cures of all time. I don’t feel sorry for anyone who can’t resist the urge. Get tougher! As far as the stress goes in your everyday regime, the key is relaxation, occasional massages, and a daily multivitamin. These are effective high blood pressure cures if taken seriously.

In the never ending quest to lose weight, you may think of eating right and exercising. These are the two most important things to do. If you go about this in the right way, these things will work together in boosting your metabolism. When this happens, you will burn more fat, and your energy levels will rise.

For those who have a lot of weight to lose, boosting your metabolism can be achieved by taking a short walk each day. If you have been highly immobile do to injury or poor exercise habits, start out with just ten or fifteen minutes of walking. This is a great first step towards boosting your metabolism. As you begin to lose weight, you will have to do a bit more. Add some time to your walks, and consider adding some aerobic activity to your day at least three days a week. This will further boost your metabolism and keep the weight coming off.

For those who only have a relatively low number of pounds to lose, boosting your metabolism will be harder to do, but it is possible. You will have to exercise enough to get your heart rate elevated for more than ten minutes. Eating smaller meals throughout the day instead of just three larger meals can also help in boosting your metabolism. The thought is that your metabolism is raised whenever your body is digesting food. If you eat smaller, more frequent meals, you can keep your metabolism running at a higher rate.

Lifting weights will help in boosting your metabolism whether you are male or female. Women often skip this because they fear their muscles will get too big and they will look bulky. This is not the case, however, as male and female bodies are different. Men bulk up while women remain lean.

There are times when people turn to supplements that are made specifically for boosting your metabolism. Be very careful with this, and talk to your doctor before starting any new exercise, eating plan, or supplement. There may be repercussions to your health that you have not considered. Study up on any ingredients before you start a new supplement, and make sure you know what you are getting into. Many will work to some degree, but the side effects can range from uncontrollable jitters to a nauseous feeling, or worse.

No matter what route you take when boosting your metabolism, make your health your number one priority. If you begin supplements and something just doesn’t feel right, discontinue and talk to your doctor to make sure you are still healthy, and on the right track in your weight loss efforts.

So you’re getting ready for that big date. You haven’t been out in some time, therefore you’re anxious to make a good impression. All is perfect; you got the haircut, and the new outfit. You remembered to wash your car so it’s all sparkly clean. This is going to be one perfect night to remember. It’s all about that first impression, right? Uh oh, wait. Something is seriously wrong. You’re peering into the bathroom mirror and you spot it. It’s a brand spanking new whitehead. I mean a fat zit right in the middle of your forehead. What are you going to do now? You can’t let her see you like this. All she will remember is that disgusting zit. Okay, the truth is that many of us have been in a situation similar to this. This is a time for great acne medicines that really work.

What acne medicines have you tried? Do they truly zap that pimple in no time, or are you waiting days and days for it to fade? They say that a zit takes one week to go through its cycle, and then supposedly it should be gone on its own. In theory that doesn’t sound too awful. I mean, a week isn’t really that long. However, are you willing to walk around with a white puss-filled bump on your face for all the world to glare at in disgust? Probably not. This particular situation makes most of us uncomfortable. Well, you could always cover that irksome blemish with a Band-Aid. Because that’s not conspicuous or anything. Or, you could get your hands on some decent acne medicines and obliterate the problem altogether. You see, the burden of breakouts lies more in dealing with pimples that are already there. So it’s time to stop letting them arise. What you need is some quality acne medicines that prevent breakouts. That way you’re not waiting an entire week for zits to run their cycle. Stifle those nasty whiteheads, blackheads, and bumps once and for all.

When it comes to acne medicines, different things work well for different individuals. Not everyone’s complexion is going to be restored with Proactive Solution, and not everyone will reap the benefits of Neutrogena acne face wash. Therefore, it’s good to try a few things. Believe me; you will know when something starts working. You ideally want acne medicines that prevent new acne from forming, destroy the current acne, and do not over-dry or irritate your sensitive mug in the process. Hop online today and check out the vast spectrum of acne medicines available.
